Hougang Primary School, in the north east of Singapore, has 2477 pupils
from Chinese, Malay and Tamil backgrounds. The principal, Mr.Goh Ek
Piang leads a staff of 121, including two vice principals. The school
runs a double session, so the day starts at 7.10 am and ends at 6.25 pm.
The school’s vision is to create a ‘vibrant institution of excellence in
harmony with her community.’ Their mission is ‘to develop each child to
his fullest potential academically, physically, socially and morally and
to instil in him a passion for lifelong learning and a love for
Singapore.’ The school provides a stimulating and fun environment, with
superb facilities in order to deliver an innovative and creative
curriculum.
